Meet the minds, paws, and pack mule behind each morsel

waffle
ecosystem

Waffle’s body of work will appeal to those who have many curious questions even after “trying it all”. If your interests are peaked by questioning the assumptions we make about how the body works in relation to the world around us, you’re in the right place.

Its appropriate Waffle is a living collection of seemingly segregated projects. They all contribute to the larger body of work.

A lot of what Robbie is building with Waffle began with a dog named Braddah. Who meee? He had an uncanny ability to change the room simply by being in it.

The things she learned from Braddah eventually became questions she wanted to explore through movement, breath, nidra, art, and story. Behind the learning about bodies, there’s a theme in finding the art in being alive. In the noticing.

500-RYT

Robbie Man - loves butter

My work appears “uncertain” as it sits somewhere between Nature, movement, story, curiosity, and the strange awareness of being alive. For me, teaching and making art aren’t separate practices. Both are ways of paying attention and becoming aware.

The more I learned about the body and the quantities of mysteries it still holds, the less interested I become in treating it with certainty.

I’m less interested in telling you what's right for you or what your morning routine should look like. I’m more fascinated when someone develops a relationship with themselves and how that naturally evolves into better relationships with others. I’m interested in the connection points of the body, breath, movement, response, perception and experience. The place where stories form.

Part of my work is noticing the stories we tell about our bodies and our experience. The other part notices those stories from another angle. Our patterns don’t just disappear because we understand them.

Storytelling helps me understand the body's nuance. The unreliability of my own convictions. The more I understand the needs of the body I have, the more I know who I am. What is considered “healthy” for me and my lifestyle. What is a “cost” and what’s a “return”. I’m not here to tell you what you should do with your body. I’m here to help you become curious about what it is already doing as a functional ecosystem, even if it seems wacky.

Braddah Man - Homemade Whipped Cream

Mom thinks I’m the true coach here. Isn’t she silly? We’re all coaches. We’re all students. Nobody is qualified. The Earth is a mystery. So are you. We only know that all systems affect each other.

If we could get weird and listen better. What would we “see” if we considered the trillions of eyes, all experiencing a different spectrum. I bet the rad level is plop worthy.

Waldo - Crunchy Blueberries

Side-quest Narrator. Unblinking. Unusually perceptive for a doll.

He has deemed Robbie the pack mule. It’ll make more sense the more time you spend with us.

Through his eyes, this whole Adventure gets just the right amount of absurd.

Martha Hernandez - peanut butter

Born and raised in Las Vegas. Martha attended UNLV and attained 2 bachelor’s degrees. One in Sports Nutrition and the other in Kinesiology. She has been a registered dietitian for 11 years and a Strength and Conditioning coach for 8 years.

Martha currently holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (a total badass), and teaches that in order to assist someone in creating their healthy lifestyle, one must view the individual as a whole. Which means taking into consideration their work, home life, stress/stressors, sleep and social life as a recovering performance addict herself.

Martha ‘s attention to her people goes deep. She believes in finding what has held back the individual from achieving their fitness goals so that they can have their breakthrough and live their best life. Preferably with a dog.
